Hand thrown raku pottery by Barry Burnstein. Raku* fired in saw dust, bold shades of teal to copper and shades of teal. Barry's process is firing pots up to 5 times adding glazes to create these glowing works which remind one of the Northern lights. This pot measure 8.5" x 8" and ships free to US states. *Raku generally refers to a type of low-firing processthat was inspired by traditional Japanese raku firing. Western-style raku usually involves removing pottery from the kiln while bright red heat and placing it into containers with combustible materials. Once the materials ignite, the containers are closed. Raku potter is not food safe and does not hold water.
